My Story

The year was 2001, and I was mothering my sons and working as an educational consultant.

That same year, I also trained as a Yoga Instructor and taught my first yoga class.

So there I was, standing at the front of the room, guiding people through poses, thinking, "How am I going to remember this sequence?  Maybe the whole room will wind up looking like a giant game of Twister gone VERY wrong?!!"

However, it went fine.  I was walking around the room and placing my hands on people’s hips and calves and shoulder blades, and breathing, just like my teacher had done for me. But then, a very odd thing happened after class. . .

One thin woman with dark hair and a pink top said,

“I’ve had pain in this ovary for 6 months, and your hand touched me there while you adjusted my pose, and now the pain's gone.  How did you do that?”

I said, “I don’t know.”

Then, a man with blonde thinning hair and glasses approached me to say, “Sheryl, my knee has hurt for 10 years.  You hovered your hand over it, when you adjusted my hips, and now it doesn’t hurt.”

At this point, I’m thinking to myself, “Really?”

And then an elder man behind him said, “Yeah, and Sheryl, when you touched the back of my heart, the depression I’ve been stuck in for months, lifted and it was the first time I’ve felt lighter since my wife died 6 months ago.”

After all the students had left, I remained, soaking in the reality of what had just happened.

Then a series of flashbacks happened. . .

First, I flashed to age 15, in my  high school, where Northwestern University researchers had trained me in meditation.  Black reclining chairs and biofeedback machines lined the room.  As I listened to the meditation tapes, my pulse rate slowed.  I saw at this young age that our thoughts affected our bodies, that meditation created calmness.  I’d practiced meditation ever since.

Second, I realized that my hands had intuitively known where to go on my yoga students’ bodies.

I flashed to teaching in a high school, where I’d learned to sense where the “hot spots” in the classroom were.  You know, the spots where students were passing notes, zoning out, about to light a fire in a trash can (yes, that can happen), and I’d walk my body to those “hot spots” and my students would calm and the lessons could continue.

Somehow, this skill had translated into my yoga teaching, but in a new form.  Intuitively, I’d sensed the hot spots in my yoga students’ bodies, and had placed my hands on those areas.  As I did, they calmed.  As I breathed and offered a meditative presence, their systems began healing.

So, that’s the story of how I discovered that my gift was directing energy in a way that helped people heal.

It launched me on a 15 year journey of studies with renowned healers and shamans around the world, from San Diego to Sacred sites in Peru. . .As I did, my gifts deepened, and I learned to harness them consistently and potently.

I now sense and see energy blocks and affect healing, whether I’m near a person or on the other side of the world.

I’ve been a senior lead teacher for what’s considered the “Harvard” of Energy medicine in which I supported hundreds of students in learning the shamanic art and science of energy healing.

Today, I work with purpose-driven entrepreneurs, their teams and their families, to help them unblock themselves and their companies.  As we do this work, their being and every product and service they create becomes more aligned with the Divine.
